SPRING ROAD RESTRICTIONS

The ending date of spring load restrictions in the North-Central and North Frost Zone will be Friday, May 13th, 2011 at 12:01am.  All of Beltrami County is within these frost zones.

Restrictions on various County routes may remain in place until poor road conditions improve.  Posted load limit signs govern.  All unposted gravel surfaced roads are limited to 9 tons per axle.  Unposted bituminous highways are limited to 10 tons per axle.

SIGNS IN RIGHT OF WAYS POSE A DANGER

State law prohibits signs in the rights-of-way of state highways, county roads, township roads and city streets. Please be aware of road right of way when placing signs such as: commercial or business advertisements, realty signs, and event notices.  The Beltrami County Highway Department warns individuals that placing signs in highway rights-of-way is illegal and poses a danger to motorists and highway employees.  The County Highway Department will remove signs on county roads that violate the law.
