On Sunday, May 16, 2010, at approximately 5:10 p.m. a Beltrami County Deputy Sheriff responded to the report of a fire at a residence in Blackduck, MN. The Deputy, along with a Blackduck Police Officer entered the residence to ensure all occupants were outside of the house.
The Deputy began to fight the fire with his fire extinguisher and was overcome by smoke inhalation. The Deputy was transported by Blackduck Ambulance to the North Country Regional Hospital ER where he was treated and released. The Blackduck Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames from the fire.
