Thru-Hikes on North Country National Scenic Trail

A series of 16 hikes are now underway to celebrate the completion of the North Country National Scenic Trail between the Chippewa National Forest and Itasca State Park, The 16 hikes will result in a Thru-Hike of the entire distance from the Chip to Itasca plus an additional 20 miles of hiking within the Chip.

Thru-Hike # 2 is scheduled for Saturday, May 22, a 3.5 mile hike commencing at 9:15 AM.  Starting point:  Drive south of the "Y" on HWY 371 for 4 miles; turn left (east) onto the Woodtick Trail and drive east for 4.9 miles to Chippewa National Forest RD 3790: turn left (north) and drive 1.3 miles to the NCT trailhead.  Bring water to carry and a snack.  Call 218-675-5448 if questions.
